Vision-based & Optical Measurement

Welcome to Vision-based and Optical Measurement at the Institute of Electrical Measurement and Measurement Signal Processing at Graz University of Technology, Austria!

We perform research and teach about various aspects of vision-based and optical measurement, including the required modelling, signal processing, and prototype development. Our research focus is twofold: Reconstruction of 3D space, time, and spectrum; and Recognition in images and video.

Our joint CVPR'15 work with York Univ:

Recent research activities include the following projects:

08/2014 - 07/2017: FWF (Austrian Science Foundation) basic research project P-27076: STRR - "Space-Time Representation and Recognition in Computer Vision"

03/2013 - 02/2016: EU ICT-2011-600545 project 3D-PITOTI: "3D acquisition, processing and presentation of prehistoric European rock-art". Within this project, we are developing a novel 3D rock-art scanner. See the picture on the left for our first scanner prototype. The scanner can reconstruct 3D surface geometry up to 0.1mm in (X/Y/Z) and radiometric surface properties in (r/g/b) at up to 12 bit/pixel. Our scanner has received excellent reviews and our contribution to the project has been rated as "exceeding expectations" in all project reviews, including the final review in April 2016.
