Body and Soul

In this exhibition, two very different cultures – body and soul – meet by way of furniture from amm and carpets from Gebhart Blazek. Edgar Allen Poe describes the carpet in Philosophy of Furniture as “the soul of the apartment”, and for Marshall McLuhan furniture represents a translation of the body’s posture into material. Furniture and carpets together create space in a sensual interplay, which they bring into our everyday world.
