amm - architektInnen machen möbel & the Prenninger association cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Anna-Lülja Praun Möbelbaupreis" in KulturPension Prenning. The Prenninger Gespräche association has announced a furniture competition - focusing on the life and work of Anna Lülja-Praun - at Graz University of Technology, Institute of Spatial Design and at the Ortweinschule's Department of Art and Spatial Design.
From design to furniture: the participants were expected to be inspired by the designs of architect Anna-Lülja Praun (1906 - 2004). She was one of the first architecture graduates of TU Graz and later collaborated with architects Herbert Eichholzer and Clemens Holzmeister. After the Second World War, she led a studio in Vienna and worked in areas of housing and furniture design. She sought to adapt to her clients as characters by giving her furniture a physiognomy, following design processes that were extremely varied in order to connect the functional with the aesthetic. The exhibition shows the development of her furniture, from design to construction of scale models to built prototypes.
