With the European Testing Center of Medical Devices (PMG), arranged as working group at the Institute of Health Care Engineering, Graz University of Technology is the only university in Europe with a body that is federally accredited, by the Federal Ministry Digital and Economic of the Republic of Austria to inspect and certify medical devices according to European norms and regulations. Type testing is in the scope of accreditation as well as special safety-related tests of active medical devices. In addition, the PMG is also authorized to certify quality management systems of medical device manufacturers in compliance with EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 13485.
