The IEA EBC Annex 72 therefore concentrates on the harmonization of assessment methods on construction-specific and operational environmental impacts (primary energy demand, greenhouse gas emissions and other indicators) throughout the entire life cycle of buildings. In order to support the applicability of harmonized methods in buildings design, the integration into digital design and planning processes is examined as well as the development of guidelines on building level based on numerous international case studies. For participating countries, which do not yet have any regional, construction sector-specific databases, the development of these is to be supported.
